Checking For Broken Links

Broken links give a poor user experience and potentially damage your search engine rankings.

How often do you check your website for broken links?

I was looking at the website for a large advertising agency and linked on one of the links for a service I was interested in – and up came the 404 page.

It looks like they had restructured their website at one point and missed updating a link.

There are several free tools out there for you to check your website for broken links – google “Broken Link Checker”. If you have Google Search Console setup for your website, it will also give you indications of any broken links.
