At a networking meeting recently, we spoke to someone where their web designer have registered the domain in their name.
They are not happy with the current provider and is looking to move away but we are not sure about the domain name. There is a risk that they may charge a transfer fee, delay the process or make them jump through unnecessary hoops.
Always register your web domain to your business or yourself if you are a sole trader – never to your IT supplier or web designer.
