Ranking Trackers Disrupted Due To Google Change

If you are using Google Search Console (GSC) to view search impressions or rank tracking software (such as aHrefs or SEMRush) to monitor your websites ranking, you may have noticed big changes this week – don’t panic.

Graph showing drop in Google search impressions

Google has removed the ability to see 100 search results on a single page. This was used by a lot of tools to work out a websites ranking within the top 100.

If you are using a tracking tool, then their ability to show your ranking outside of the top ten will unreliable. This has had the side effect of reducing the number of search impressions you will see in Google Search Console.

The important thing to note is that it should not affect the traffic to your website. It will only impact ranking trackers and search impressions in GSC.

I am sure that the various companies that create the SEO tools are working in the background to find a way to accurately report top 100 rankings.
